Writing for Reading

This week we began a bit of a writing project
for reading class. After reading Visitors from
Space we decided to do a writing project written in
the first person, where we are the comet! This
piece is an expository fiction work where there are
facts with fictional happenings. Our requirements
were to explain the parts of a comet, what a comet
is made up of, and use the word
“period” correctly in relation to
comets. We were also supposed to take the comet on
a journey into our solar system naming the planets
in order as we enter and leave the solar system.
Some of you are setting the plot to be like a race
or like another story that people know. Great luck,
we will finish them up in class tomorrow.
